I note again that absolutely all of this material is available widely elsewhere on the public internet and there's never been a problem. The intent is to augment and not to compete. If any of them are direct dupes of any of the expanded albums I'd be glad to remove them. I don't think these sets directly duplicate any official release the ones that overlap are, I think, all edited, less complete versions on the official albums. The sound is better (mostly) and the curation is thoughtfully done. I think the Miles official live release catalog is excellent and I strongly recommend that anyone interested in this music should start with those. My intent is never to conflict with official releases. The fact is, all of their official live releases are very successful, so there's no harm being done here. So many artists take a hands-off approach to this kind of material and choose not to try to enforce copyrights in these cases. Expensive Miles bootleg imports have been a big thing for ever, and the existence of the same material for free cuts into bootleg sales. The business reasons for this are probably twofold: one, free trading undercuts the paid-bootleg business, which is centered in Japan and Europe. The main thing is that copyright holders of the Miles catalog (his estate, Columbia and so on) have never taken any action against free, open circulation of these sources, which are widely available and have been for decades.
